When you cancel a sponsorship, the change will become effective on your next billing date. There are no refunds for payments for GitHub Sponsors.
Canceling a sponsorship
- In the upper-right corner of any page on GitHub, click your profile picture, then click Settings.
- In the "Access" section of the sidebar, click Billing and licensing, then click Usage.
- Optionally, to manage your sponsorship on behalf of an organization, in the upper-left corner, select the Switch to another account dropdown menu, then click the organization.
- Under "GitHub Sponsors", next to the sponsored account, click your current tier amount, then click Cancel sponsorship.
- Review the alert about canceling your sponsorship, then click OK.
Canceling a scheduled sponsorship
Organizations that pay for GitHub Sponsors by invoice can schedule the first payment for the next billing date. You can cancel the scheduled sponsorship before it becomes active.
- In the upper-right corner of GitHub, click your profile picture, then click Your organizations.
- Next to the organization, click Settings.
- In the "Access" section of the sidebar, click Billing and plans.
- Under "GitHub Sponsors", in the yellow banner with the start date, click Undo.
- Review the alert about undoing the activation of the sponsorship, then click OK.
