Creating issues with the GitHub integration in Slack

With the GitHub integration in Slack, you can create issues in any repository that you have access to directly from Slack. This enables you to quickly capture and track tasks, bugs, or feature requests as they arise during conversations in Slack. You must be connected to your GitHub account in Slack and have the necessary permissions to create issues in the target repository.

  1. In any Slack message, type /github in the reply field of any message and press Enter.

  2. In the Open a new issue dialog, update the information to reflect the issue you want to create, including the title, description, and any relevant labels or assignees.

    Note

By default, the last used repository in the channel will be selected. To change the repository, click the Change repo dropdown and select a different repository.

  3. Click Open to create the issue.
